The trainers and staff at Topiary Farms are one of a kind. They have been working with horses for most their lives and have helped train individuals of various skill levels. They each place a high priority on safety, fun, and learning. No matter your ability level, we will help match you with a trainer that best meets your and exceeds your needs.

Destiny is a motivated trainer who continues her education and that of her students, bringing expert clinicians like Julie Winkle, Greg Best, and Leanne Hornnes to offer guidance to both herself and others.  Destiny began working as an assistant show trainer for top hunter/jumper trainers, earning top ribbons and placing at A and AA rated shows. She grew up in the Eventing world and has competed up to Preliminary Eventing and 3rd level dressage, earning her bronze medal.

Destiny has brought students from beginners to beginning jumping cross-rails to her riders competing up to 3’foot+.  Her clients have shown at schooling shows, to the AA rated national shows all around California. She is compassionate about what her students learn whether it be just riding for leisure or going into competition.  Set up an appointment and tour to meet her and our horses and facility.

Shelby is our intermediate instructor here at Topiary Farms. She has been riding and showing horses since the age of 13. She has competed around California in the county and schooling shows in many disciplines. I have shown English, Western, Jumping, Showmanship, and Equitation. She has earned countless overall high point buckles and trophies, along with high point awards in these disciplines. She has taught a handful of her own students in previous years, and have brought them to the same success.

She enjoys teaching and making strong connections with kids and adult students. Her aim is to improve their riding abilities, confidence, and understanding of horses in an enjoyable atmosphere. I want to prepare the students for the next level of riding, where they can excel.

She is currently furthering her education in hopes to attend Veterinary school. She graduated from the University of California Merced where she obtained a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and was a four-year collegiate athlete playing basketball. She brings a lot of experience in many aspects of life, and would love to share her experience with the students.

Hi! My name is Ann Bonn and I am the beginner’s instructor at Topiary Farms. I have been riding horses for over 20 years.  I fell in love with horses and animals at a very young age. I give lessons to first time young riders. My favorite part about giving lessons to kids is watching their big smiles when they trot for the first time! My students get so much more from my lessons than just learning how to become a better rider. I want my students to become a team with their horse and to learn how to be kind and compassionate to their horse. Horses have feelings, the students need to get to know their horse’s personality. Riding horses is so much more than just riding. It is also caring and providing a loving environment for the horse and rider so they can blossom into a great team.  This sets them up for other things in life!
